زهرة برية

3/9/12

My internet connection is not the best where I am so I will make this short and sweet. I have been in Dubai visiting family that live there. It has been an amazing time. I am writing now from Langkawi, Malaysia. I’m staying in this hilarious hotel that is ‘faded seaside glamour’ to the MAXIMUM! This is one of my all time favourite inspirations so I hope to be able to take some photos of that to show you.

Richard Mosse is an Irish photographer challenging documentary photography. These pictures here come from his ‘Infra’ series, shot using infrared film during his journey through Congo. The Aerochrome film renders all greens as pink. Infrared light is invisible to the human eye so in some ways he says it was like shooting blind, but the nature of the film was that it would reveal the invisible.

Mood Board – Late 70s / Early 80s

I’ve always been a mad 70s girl but the late 70s early 80s is what I’m looking to for inspiration right now. The poster girl for this look is Catherine Baba. J’adore her flamboyance and 20s/30s/disco look. A lot of the 70s were influenced by 20s &30s style and she does it so well….what I would do for that tassel red cape coat!
Looks like I will be making more turbans…. I have been mucking around with my turban pattern for awhile now and have some beautiful red crushed velvet to use, they are genius for my bad hair days! Kimono’s are essential to this look as well, and so is a frizzy fringed hairstyle…which I have with a bit of teasing! Don’t be afraid to try this out ladies.
